Our Week 2 Game Of The Week will feature the match up between the Edinburg Vela Sabercats visiting the Edcouch-Elsa Yellow Jackets at Benny Layton Memorial Stadium on Friday 9/2.
Both teams are coming off high scoring week 1 games, with the Sabercats winning a shoot out against Victoria East 63-62 in double overtime & the Yellow Jackets falling to the Los Fresnos 50-40. Vela brings the running attack behind Robert Guerra & E-E features dual threat QB Marco Aguinaga.

Mcallen Memorial runs away with win over Sharyland Pioneer
Mcallen Memorial ran away with the win over Sharyland Pioneer behind a strong run game from Campbell Speights & Emilio Mendez. Speights made his debut, rushing for 150 yards & 3 TD's. Emilio added 202 rushing yards with 3 TD's as well.

Economedes cruises to win over Hanna
Economedes Jaguars looked dominant on both sides of the ball, leading to blow out win over the visiting Brownsville Hanna Eagles. Jags run attack opened up the lead and the defense increased it with a pick 6 for Jags in the 4th qtr. Hanna QB Justin Martinez was able to find the end zone as he scrambled for a 24 yard TD run to finish off the game.
