RGV Vixens defeated the Rockport Her-ricanes in a thriller that went down to the final minute of the game. Vixens win the IWFA D2 Super Bowl with a 57-56 Final Score.

RGV athletes put on great performance

Shout out to everyone that attended the RGV Elite Football Combine.

The attendees were hustling and putting work in preparation for the 2017 Texas High School Football season to begin. The athletes performed in testing several position drills.

Skills Camp MVP's

The top performers of the Skills Camp held at McAllen Veterans Stadium, hosted by the South Texas Showcase.

Dallas Cowboys receiver in the RGV

Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Lucky Whitehead was in attendance for a speed camp/combine with Cavazos Sports Institute today in McAllen. Several athletes participated in speed drills and testing drills to further improve their skills.

Congrats to RGV's Victoria Gonzalez on her progression in WWE/NXT.

"Reina Gonzalez" will be participating in the Mae Young Classic Womens Tournament on the WWE Network in August.

RGV Football Combine to be held July 22nd

The RGV Football Combine will be having their annual football combine/camp on Saturday, July 22nd at Golazo Soccer Complex in Pharr, Tx.

Athletes will get tested & filmed, with each attendee receiving their own highlight video of all drills done. The combine is for football athletes from Grades 7th through 12th grades. Top performers will be awarded MVP medals in each position.

The South Texas Select Showcase held their football underclassmen showcase this past weekend in Corpus Christi.

2 RGV athletes were named MVP's of the event.

Most Outstanding OL - Hector de Jesus out of San Benito H.S. (class of 2018)
Most Outstanding RB - Darius Hernandez out of La Feria H.S. (class of 2019)

Harlingen Cardinals win TYFA Spring Championship

The Harlingen Cardinals (SENIORS) team won the TYFA Spring Bowl Championship held at Mcallen Sports Park, winning 3 straight games in dominant fashion.

Cardinals defeated Houston Seahawks 26-12, Texas Giants 35-0 and South Side Colts 40-6 in the championship game.

Sharyland Sting advance to the Conference Championshp

Sharyland Sting, the #2 seed had a 1st round bye with a 9-1 record, awaiting the winner of the #3 Galveston Monarchs vs. #6 Golden Triangle Seminoles out of Beaumont last weekend, with the Monarchs advancing.

Sting hosted the Galveston Monarchs in the 2nd round of the TUFA Playoffs, Saturday night at Sharyland Pioneer H.S.. The game went into halftime scoreless at 0-0, until the Sting finally blew things up leading way to a 16-0 lead late in the 3rd quarter. The Monarchs were able to cut the lead to 16-8 in the 4th, but Sting converted on a 37yd TD pass on 4th down to increase their lead 24-8 late in the 4th. The Monarchs added a late score in the final minute of the game, but was too late as the Sting kneeled the ball to end the game, 24-14 FINAL

Sharyland improves to a 10-1 record and advance to the Conference Championship game next week, as they travel to rematch the undefeated 11-0 Texas Xtreme out of Austin. Winner advances to the TUFA league championship game on June 10th in Georgetown, Tx.
